Strategic Water Storage Upgrade at Roxby Downs

Red Mulga Australia (RMA) played a pivotal role in upgrading critical potable water infrastructure for the township of Roxby Downs. Commissioned by BHP, the project involved a full-scale replacement of a legacy 10ML dam with three new 5ML storage tanks. The work encompassed civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical (SMP & E&I) components, showcasing RMA’s integrated construction capabilities.

As part of its ongoing infrastructure renewal, BHP engaged Red Mulga to manage the end-to-end delivery of new water storage assets essential to township supply resilience.

Scope of Works

The comprehensive project works included:

  • Demolition and decommissioning of a 10ML potable water dam.

  • Construction and installation of three 5ML steel water storage tanks.

  • Tie-in of tanks to existing inlet and outlet water infrastructure.
